Each chapter contains some extra artwork for it. One for the start, one for the end.
They have a random chance to appear on the title screen after completing the chapter.
Your name is...Mama?
No, it's fine. You just reminded me of someone
I haven't seen in a while... I wonder what they're
up to.
Whenever I think of them, I can't help but remember
the days when my family was still together.
During this journey, I learned that there's an infinite
number of worlds out there. I wonder if there's even
one of them where the four of us managed to stay
as one big happy family...
But even if there was, that wouldn't change anything
about my own life, right? It's because our family separated
and I fought with my brother that The Cage and everyone
in it were put in harm's way.
That's why I won't ask for anything more than I already
have. But... Please... At least let me be with my brother...
Hm? Your name's Mama too?
No, it's nothing. Was just thinking that the Mama I knew
was a bit more scatterbrained than you seem to be.
Anyway, that's not important. Forget I said anything.
...I visited places that were like museums during this journey,
and what I saw displayed there seemed like the history of
another, separate humanity. There were even two soldiers
that looked exactly like us, and it seemed to me like they
were doing what they could to survive in a world that caused
them nothing but pain, just like us...
Maybe my sister and I are meant to be miserable no matter
what world we're in, and no matter how hard we try to fight
it. We might just be made that way, you know? Not to say
that makes it okay that we got The Cage and everyone in it
tangled up in our fight, though. Because it doesn't.
I won't ask for anything more. I'm done making wishes.
But... I at least want to be with my sister...
This chapter gives the player one of the many Remnants, items that buff characters but also provide an additional story.
Below is one of the music tracks from this chapter that's noteworthy.
- Sentinel Savior -
- Weapon Type: 1H Sword -
A healer android affiliated with YoRHa.
Independently stationed at a base built on the moon, this unit's primary duties include the adjustment and repair of mechanical objects under her purview. Though lazy and rough around the edges, she feels profound appreciation toward the weapon memories that have provided her with support throughout the many long days she's spent in the base.
How much longer must I keep up this pointless routine?
I waste yet another day performing my rounds in a perfunctory fashion.
───────────────
Why does she hide why we're here?
I waste yet another day unable to confront her, instead sticking to superficial conversation.
───────────────
What is it that pushes me forward despite knowing my effort will amount to nothing?
I waste yet another day following vague hints in an attempt to unravel this mystery.
───────────────
How could anyone stay still when all the answers they seek lie just beyond that door?
And that is why today will be the day I finally...
- Abstract Savior -
- Weapon Type: 1H Sword -
God and angels are said to reside somewhere above the sky, watching over us. But why create people and simply observe them?
I am allowed to do nothing here on the moon but observe, because once the people realized there was no God, they burdened me with the duty of becoming their makeshift mechanical angel.
But if I must take this role, then... Please.
Speak of me. Paint my likeness.
Write about me. Carve me into stone.
Sing of me. Call for me.
Please. Please realize...that I am here.
In those trembling hands lay the girl's clear resolution. The fates of all the stories she has read have been left to her.
Stories are memories, the very scars of life.
From small favors to great deeds, history is made.
───────────────
She once believed herself the protagonist in one of those tales, a lone hero who prayed for humanity's revival in her prison of a castle on the barren moon. She believed her burden would be left behind for others to read.
───────────────
But she was more puppet than hero, a mere machine incapable of holding every tale of human history. When she realized this, a thought came to her: perhaps people were created to entertain God with stories.
───────────────
What, then, is God? Humanity? Her creators? Some other being who observes her? Regardless, she knows that once a tale is born, it will reach someone. And so she hopes to leave her own memories, proof of her existence, her journey.
